At first they were only improvising with our fresh ideas, but soon started writing new songs and compositions. They started to invite their friends to make the music with them (there was a rule that each person who came to listen to us during our rehearsals had to take any instrument and participate in their reggae-sonic voyage). As a result of the open-minded concept of the group, many musicians (conga players, brass section instrumentalists, keyboard players, bass and guitar players, and vocalists) have been joining and leaving the group. In the very climax, there were eleven of them on stage: 1 drummer, 2 conga players, 1 percussionist, 2 guitarists, 1 bass player, 2 saxophone players, 1 trumpet player, and 1 trombone player.
However, it must be stated that the core of the group have always been the same. They have played many concerts in Poland and Ukraine. They have also supported numerous famous bands from Poland, Czech Rep.. Lithuania, and Ukraine. The Komische Pilze sings only songs and compositions written by themselves. The lyrics are mostly written by Marcin alias Jammetta (the vocalist), but they also have 1 song with Jammetta and Matwiej's uncle's lyrics and 2 songs with the lyrics of their best friend (presently a bank clerk).
The lyrics of Roads Go Ever On is a poem from The Hobbit written by J.R.R. Tolkien. There are a few cover song in their live 2 -hrs.-long programme, including: Run Dem Away by Bim Sherman, Rollerskates by Steel Pulse, Stir it up by Bob Marley and Silver Rain by Marcus Miller. Read more on Last.fm.
