Kek '66

Kek '66 was a contemporary sixties beat band from The Netherlands (1995-2002). Essentially the follow-up to the legendary The Kliek (rulers of the Dutch neo-sixties beat scene from 1987 to 1995), they released two full-length albums: Kek '66 (1999) and On The Outside Looking In (2002). Former frontman of The Kliek, Robert Müter, formed Kek '66 in 1995, picking up the guitar and handling the leadvocals. He was joined by former Kliek drummer, Stefan Steutel, and long time friend and bassist, Marc de Regt. Read more on Last.fm

Former frontman of The Kliek, Robert Müter, formed Kek '66 in 1995, picking up the guitar and handling the leadvocals. He was joined by former Kliek drummer, Stefan Steutel, and long time friend and bassist, Marc de Regt. Steutel left the band in 1997, his replacement being the Russian Zjenja Guberman, another former drummer of The Kliek.

The band played 124 live in seven years' time, including various tours of Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Russia. They supported Arthur Lee's Love during a Spanish and French tour and also opened for Love in The Netherlands. Kek'66 called it a day in 2002. In 2004 Marc de Regt joined former Treble Spankers member Phantom Frank to form instrumental surf band The Phantom Four and also carried on playing in The Timeflies. Robert Müter joined on guitar in 2006.

Former bandmembers Müter, de Regt and Steutel shortly re-appeared in the backing band of Julia P. in 2005. "New gigs as Kek '66 are unlikely right now", according to the band's website. Read more on Last.fm.
