(1995 - present) Keiichi Okabe (Japanese: 岡部 啓一, Okabe Keiichi), born May 26, 1969 is a Japanese video game music composer. Keiichi was born in Kobe, Japan. He began his career working for Japanese video game publisher Namco (now Bandai Namco Entertainment) arranging and composing music primarily for the Tekken video game series. He is however arguably best known for composing the music of NieR, both the original title NieR (2010) and its sequel NieR: Automata (2017), which he composed together with his Monaca team and features vocals by Emi Evans and Nami Nakagawa. Nier: Automata Original Soundtrack peaked at number 2 on the Oricon charts, with over 28,000 copies sold in its first week in Japan. Critics praised it, with Patrick Gann of RPGFan saying the album was as good or better than the original as well as "perfectly, wonderfully great". Read more on Last.fm.
