Kanako Itō (いとう かなこ, Itō Kanako, born March 28, 1973) is a female Japanese singer from Utsunomiya, Tochigi, Japan. She has sung many songs that have appeared in video games and anime. She is to release a best-of album, "ANOTHER BEST" on December 2008. Much of her songs have been for games by the game company Nitro+ (ニトロプラス), including the Demonbane series, Jingai Makyo, Saya no Uta, Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate and Togainu no Chi. Read more on Last.fm

She is also widely known for works used on the visual novel Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni series.

One of her notable songs in recent non-Nitro Plus games was "Kanashimi no Mukō e" (悲しみの向こうへ), the "bad end" ending theme to the visual novel School Days. Itō has also sung songs for a drama CD and anime adaptations of School Days. Recently, she has been singing more songs for animes, such as BLASSREITER and Hatenkō Yūgi.
