Ki Faro

What does your name mean? It’s not a name it’s a title *laughs awkwardly* "KI" which translates to "The circulating life force or universal force is thought to be inherent in all things." And” Faro” is a phonetic spelling to the word “Pharaoh” , which of course everyone knows it to be the title of the rulers of all Ancient Egyptian dynasties. However, historically the title originates in the Egyptian term literally translating to "The great house", describing the royal palace. Read more on Last.fm
So the direct translation or meaning to my name (or title) can be seen as 2 things, "The king of all inherit energies in the universe" or The body that holds all the energies of the universe. I am, of course only referring to music *chuckles to himself* how conceited would I be if I said I was the kings of everything? From The Mana To The Office” Michael KI FARO Thompson" is perhaps not your most exemplary “British Gentleman” but the self-made 6’3 MC With a love for Martial Arts, spirituality, business and anything relating to entrepreneurism is clearly not your average rapper, producer or songwriter either. "I like to think of myself as the middle man between the Elite and the Forgotten..." he says of himself. But under his Ki Faro alias, this North Londoner is definitely not one to sleep on.

With his debut single “Made In The Mana” reaching over 100,000 YouTube hits, play-listed on MTV, Kiss, Flava & Channel AKA and constant support of the UK leading youth radio station “Reprezent Radio” & "Itch FM" Ki Faro is definitely one to watch out for! Being introduced to music at the age of 5 Ki Faro began a journey towards success at a young age. Upon receiving recognition at just 13 years old from his English teacher for his talent for poetry, Ki Faro has since grown and developed into a prominent UK artist. Drawing inspiration from musicians as diverse as 2Pac, Dizzee Rascal, Bob Marley and Jamiroquai, Ki Faro represents the fresh face of the urban music today, incorporating his emceeing skills over a mixture of grime, Trap-step and mainstream Hip Hop beats. In 2007 Ki Faro released his début Mix tape, 'Enter Norf London' which made way for his 2009 single, 'The Ronin Technique.' leading to the release of his second Mix tape, ‘The Style of Phoenix’. In 2011, KI-Faro released two projects entitled, ‘The Road to Success Volume 1 (Transition)' and 'The Road To Success Volume 2 (Commercial Interlude)’ and in the beginning of 2012, KI Faro’s released his debut MTV single, ‘Made in the Mana’, which denotes the real beginning of his voyage into the increasingly popular Urban music scene. “It’s time for something fresh to be brought into the game” Ki Faro states while being heavily influenced by the smooth and slick looks of suits and tailor made wear “Maybe I will be like the black James Bond, you know just smooth, professional and everything just seems to fall in place for him” In early 2013 Ki Faro released his debut single from his forth coming mini L.P "The Rise Of An Empire".

A track which caused a storm through the digital world, toping 19,000 downloads , the self-entitled "Black Bond." with cameos from AHTV / Troll Station's upcoming Actor/Comedian Nathan Brown (playing Odd Job) and renowned Actor Mr Karl Collins as “M” (known for his role in the bill.) As the Mini L.P nears completion KI-Faro promises us "it will be one that the whole UK scene will remember." In October 2013 Ki Faro released his second single from his forthcoming Mini L.P "Rock Til She Drop" A track which illustrates the nature of the high maintenance female. Filmed and visually brought to life by Elmino Da Great (who’s worked with Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Estelle, Skepta, Bashy, K Koke, Wretch 32 and many more) the music video to the track portrays the "high maintenance female" as demons out to entice men and capture their souls, an exaggerated interpretation of women who take all and leave men with nothing. Being playlisted nationwide with support from such stations as Kiss FM, Itch FM, HOT 92, MI-SOUL Radio, RAM JAM RADIO, Metro Radio / CFM Radio / TFM Radio / Magic 1152/Network North, WOAH FM, SWURV RADIO “Rock Til She Drop” is most definitely the perfect follow up single succeeding the amazing release from his debut single “The Black Bond”. Now in 2014 Ki Faro has started to put into motion the creation of his multimedia company titled “Faro Empire” which will branch into several smaller companies, A Record Label, Production Label and a Clothing Line. While in the process of signing 2 producers and 3 Artist to the “Empire” Ki Faro is still heavily focused on the finalisation of his album.

“With the music game being too saturated with everyone believing they can produce, rap or whatever, what separates me or (us) from the rest is that professionalism and clarity with tons of dedication” , Ki Faro seems to be as confident as they come. But with such hits as “Made In The Mana” & “The Black Bond” and many more to come, the music will put any doubters back in their place. Ki Faro’s innovative commentary on UK urban life brings with it fresh originality that is set to push the boundaries of Urban music within the UK and worldwide. Read more on Last.fm.
