Johnny Craven (born August 25, 1987) is an artist, singer-songwriter, composer, and record producer known for his controversial stage persona and image as the lead vocalist of the eponymous band Johnny Craven. Craven has led the alternative rock project since 2009; he left the music industry in 2011 and is now an independent recording artist. The seemingly outrageous visual and vocal styles which he utilizes, his unique interpretations of familiar songs and the controversy surrounding his lyrics and imagery are part of his public appeal. Craven was previously associated with the bands Cycle, Critical Shock, Dusty, and Brainworm in the mid-00s undergorund scene. Craven's first release as J.C., the 2012 album Oblivion, as a critical and, simultaneosly, laudatory appraisal of West and its peculiar culture is a commercial and critical success. In 2012, Johnny appeared in Tock Rock magazine's list of the year's most influential people and Mono magazine described him as "the most underated and fascinating artist in music".
