Born in West Kensington, on 14th July 1946 British Guitarist John Phil Wayne is one of the most stunning Jazz Solo Guitarist ever since he is able to play and record simultaneously all aspects of a Jazz Composition or Standard Melody, Rhythm, Chordal Harmonies, fast Walking Bass lines, Drums/Percussions on the guitar without taping or overdub but through the traditional method without detuning the instrument, tuned normally in eadgbe (www.johnphilwayne.com). He is also a Composer/Arranger, Conductor, keyboard Player, Drummer, bass player etc. He learned the guitar at the age of 12, started performing in clubs and on stage at 14 as a bassist and guitarist. At 16 he learned classical piano and at 17 became a professional Guitarist with work through the years as an International Session and Concert Musician.

He then wrote and performed a series of Film Music for MGM, Warner Tamerlane etc. with orchestras like the British Symphonia and Paris Opera Orchestra as a Conductor while being a session musician and sideman for several UK/US Stars before being himself renowned and awarded for his original and incredible guitar playing. Yet he remains unsurpassed as the most amazing Jazz Solo Guitarist of our time and is being called “Thousand Hands”.
