Johan decided to start fresh and moved to the rock city of Hultsfred in the southern part of Sweden to study economics and music management. It was during this time that the solo project started to take shape, and he decided to focus on the mellower and more piano based part of his repertoire that had not found a proper place in earlier band constellations. This has proven to be the right choice. During the 21st century Johan has continuously toured around Sweden and showed his talents as an artist and a songwriter. Hes played gigs alongside Ron Sexsmith and many of the big Swedish acts such as Kristofer strom, Stefan Sundstrom, Jose Gonzalez and Elin Sigvardsson.
In 2003 he performed at the prestigious Hultsfred Festival alongside many international acts. The self-produced album is conclusive of ten songs containing everything from mellow, acoustic ballads to powerful and, at times, symphonic rock songs. The first single, Bliss, is a catchy and up-tempo song in shuffle beat that got the reaction: "Is it possible for pop to rock this much?!" from a positively surprised critic after his first listen. There are delicious Beatle-esque melodies and bass lines, signed Per Bjorling, that you didnt think could exist. This song can also be found on Swedens biggest music magazine Grooves compilation CD no.
6. Also included on the album is Johans own interpretation of Swedish pop-gurus Popsicles breakthrough hit Hey Princess. Johan has stripped the song of its grinding guitars, slowed the tempo down and added a grand piano and more harmonies a bold approach which has gotten very positive responses at live gigs all around Sweden. To this song drummer Daniel Gamba (from the bands The 21st Century Noise and South Ambulance), has added his special touch with dreamy and ambient rhythms. Johan is currently in the process of writing and recording songs for next full length album. (oficial site) Read more on Last.fm.
