JIMPY – 14 years DJ / Producer www.jimpy.co.uk / www.clubitm.co.uk As featured on Paul van Dyk and Sasha Worldwide released mix compilations….. Jimpy, (32) began clubbing at the tender age of just 15 stumbling across the ‘Star Club’ now Eden on Ibiza. From that night on Jimpy never looked back, attending clubs such as ‘Shellys’ in Stoke on Trent, (home of the legendary Sasha) DJ SS’s weekly event ‘Total Kaos’ at the Starlight 2001 in Leicester, The Eclipse in Coventry and raves such as Dreamscape, Vision and Amnesia House all across the UK. On moving to Cardiff in 1993 he became the resident DJ of what was to become quite possibly the most famous and by far the most ‘rockin’ club in Wales – The Hip’po Club! The Hip’po is where Jimpy really learn’t his trade, warming up and finishing nights alongside the very biggest names in the business. Sasha, Digweed, Oakenfold, Sven Vath, Sister Bliss, John Kelly, Laurent Garnier to name just a few….

The Hip’po really was the place to be! In 1996 Jimpy decided to move on from the Hip’po to take a break from ‘everything’ and after a year once again found himself gracing the decks of clubs not only in the local South Wales scene, but was enjoying success at clubs around the World. In 1997 he entered the UK Ministry of Sound mixing championships and came 2nd and then in 2000 was voted 54th best DJ in the World by DJ Magazine. If that was not enough, Jimpy went on to launch his own successful weekly club nights – Enter the Dragon @ Vision, (launched Feb 11th 2000 with Paul Oakenfold) and then later ROAR. He was often seen on clubbing channels and programmes such as MTV, Rapture and Club@Vision with his partners in crime Andy and James Mitchell of the ‘Crazy Club’ – London Astoria. A few of the clubs and tours Jimpy has played include; The Hip’po Club Enter the Dragon - (resident) Slinky ROAR Timeflies Cream - (tour) Back to Basics Renaissance - (tour) Miss Money Penny’s - (tour) Godskitchen - (tour) Gatecrasher - (tour) Good Greef - (tour) Escape Club Naughty But Nice Republica @ Bakers - (Resident) Labyrinth - (Zurich) Queens – (Hong Kong) Watapalava tour – (Various USA) Club Quality - (Helsinki) Club SOI (Northern Ireland) Alongside DJ’ing, Jimpy established his own recording studio and enjoyed success as a signed artist with labels including; Whoop Records – Southeast – Star 69 (New York) – Deviant – Dorigen – Celsius. His tracks found their way onto the albums of legends including; Sasha - Global Underground 13 Paul Van Dyk - ‘Politics of Dancing’ Hernan Cattaneo ‘Live from Beunos Aires’ Remix of - Tomcraft ‘The Circle’ (Kosmo) Remix - of Victor Simonelli ‘Do You Feel Me’ (Mountain Records) Remix – of Lenny Kravitz ‘Believe’ (Pangea USA) Hollywood box office smash ‘The Beach’ staring Leonardo Di Caprio. More recently Jimpy decided to take a break from the music scene to focus on other projects. These projects are now in full swing and Jimpy is once again taking a few ‘select’ dates.

Jimpy’s style varies depending on the event, the other DJ’s playing and the time at which he is playing…. He spins everything from phat dirty tech house through to drivin and euphoric trance. He will lock the crowd and rock the crowd!…. A few past ‘Live’ DJ sets and some of Jimpy’s tracks can be listened to for free at www.clubitm.co.uk Contact – info@clubitm.co.uk for more information.
