Her upcoming solo CD will be produced in collaboration with Simon Kendall and will be released in the fall of 2014. Jenica Rayne is a graduate of Vancouver Island University’s jazz music program and has toured across Canada as a solo artist and with her bands Calamity Janes, and Jenica and The RayneMakers. Jenica’s live performance runs the emotional gamut, from the rueful, upbeat cabaret of Call It What You Like, haunting sparseness of Blues Skies Dreaming, and emotional rawness of Sarah and Will You Help a Stranger. Recently she appeared on CTV Morning in Vancouver, and Juno award winner Lynn Miles in Gananoque for the songwriter circle 'liner notes'.
Jenica Rayne teaches music and guitar at The Kingston School of Music and is now ranked #1 in Folk by Reverbnation in Kingston, and #60 nationally "Wows hometown crowd..." -The Intelligencer, Entertainment Writer "heralded for her eclectic and original musical style... Guitar aficianado brings ecclectic sound to Battersea"- Kyra Pearson, Kingston This Week "... both raw and brilliant... some gems are best left unpolished," - John McLaughlin, The Vancouver Province. "...
that evoke deep feelings" "Jenica paints perfect pictures with her words that evoke deep feelings spoken from her soul to ours. A wonderful writer, with relaxed and humorous stage presence." -Linda Kidder, Musician "well regarded for her lyrical genius..." "Rayne’s background is primarily in jazz, but she has become as well regarded for her lyrical genius as much for her playing and songcraft. She is a regular on the touring circuit both as a solo performer and as a member of her band, The Rayne Makers."-Jim Barber, in2magazines Read more on Last.fm.
