Jeff Spencer

There are at least two artists to have recorded under the name of Jeff Spencer 1. A British bass player and jazz composer who worked in Bristol and London. 2. A sound engineer and programmer specialising in budget representations of funk music. Meanwhile he had distracted himself with the guitar, piano, viola and an Atari ST.

He studied music at Bristol University and emerged as a 'qualified' composer. Now, he is armed with bass skills and a voice untouched by cigarette smoke for just over two weeks. His latest compositions have been instrumental and try to summarise the vast array of influences and interests he as accrued. See his Resonation Big Band for further work. Jeff has played with Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Geoffrey Oryema, Michael Giles (King Crimson), Elliott Randall, John Etheridge, James Morton, Melanie Gabriel, Sam Holmes, Nik Young, Emily Breeze, Rich Pollott, Helele, Saskatoon, Alex Hutchings, Jimmy Goodrich and many others. The tunes you can hear and/or buy were composed and recorded by Jeff in Bristol, UK with some fantastic musicians - Daisy Palmer on drums, Jerry Crozier-Cole on guitar, Rebecca Nash on piano, Jake McMurchie and Pete Judge from Get The Blessing (on "31") James Gardiner-Bateman on Alto ("Fruity Bikoutsi") and loads of other talents.
