Later as she became a Hong Kong singer, Vidal adopted the Chinese name 衛蘭 (traditional) 卫兰 (simplified) Wei Lan (pinyin) because before she didn't have one. Usually she is popular to be acknowledged simply by her English forename. Before she had been a bar singer once that was known as "Renee" prior to her debut album in year 2005 and 《明樂蒂》 Ming Lok Tai at an Emperor Entertainment Group singing competition in 2000. 英皇娛樂集團 is one of the largest Hong Kong entertainment groups that were founded by Albert Yeung Sau-Shing In. In the year 2009 her mom went over to settle in South Korea, while her dad stayed here in Hong Kong. Generally, her singing is widely accepted by HK Chinese fans.

On 21st November 2010, she is the only female singer that occupied 2 hot spots in the top 10 ♫ MOOV forever chart ♪ the only other singer is Justin Lo - they're 《愛才》 Ai♥ Cai "L♡ve Talent" currently #6 + 《離家出走》 Li Jia Chu Zou "Run Away from Home" currently #1, which was the single that the current Chief Executive of Hong Kong Sir Donald Tsang had also recognized. Janice admitted in a radio interview that she can't read Chinese so via English Romanization - it really helped her pronounce the words she'd sing in the recording studio. In an interview with South China Morning Post in 2009, she states that she has converted to Buddhism about 6 years prior to that interview. Since then she became Christian along with her twin sister☆ Jill M. Vidal 衛詩 (traditional Chinese) Wei Si ~ both vocalists, following her sister's scandal in Japan.
