Instrumental recordings by Berry and Sides with additional musicians under the name Ascension Brothers are released by Complex Lemon, a label founded by Berry and Finnish compser Jukka-Pekka Kervinen in 2003. Two collaborative recordings by Berry and Kervinen, The Blood Paradox Variations and Arch of a Chord: Sine 1-5 have also been released on the Complex Lemon label. Berry's most recent release Naked as rain and the animal beneath. appeared in February 2007.
A quasi-concept album, it features Jeff Berry on electric guitar on several tracks. Since the mid-1980s Berry's poetry has been widely published in journals and anthologies in the United States as well as Europe, Australia and South America. His books include Brambu Drezi, Drafts of the Sorcery, War Poems/Blood Paradoxes, and Species of Abandoned Light. The poetry often contains visual elements and are usually accompanied by audio performances on CD and internet that incorporate music and other vocalists. In 1999 the second volume of Brambu Drezi was nominated for the Patterson prize. Berry regularly performs his music and poetry in and around his hometown of Florence, Alabama and in small venues in the southern United States and elsewhere.
