Jahna Sebastian is an singer/actress and accomplished musician who writes, produces, performs, engineers, mixes her own music doing it all from programming instruments to editing. She is also producing and engineering for other artists, having recorded and mixed entire albums and mixtapes in her studio Multivizion Music, which since it’s establishment has become the centre of Russsian rap and grime scene in London. Together with rapper Oxxxymiron they brought grime and dubstep to Russia. Classically trained on piano while getting her Degree in “Music Business” at Russian Academy of Music, she had also learned to read music at the age of 7 when she had played domra in children’s orchestra for 8 years. A refugee of South Indian and Russian origins based in Croydon, South London she started her career as a singer and mc in Russia joining reggae group “Muzungu” in 2004, which then led her to joining p-funk group Clean Tone and establishing her own reggae band “Jah Soldiers” in 2006.

While she became the top female reggae artist in Russia at the time, it was the rising neo-nazi movement and racism she has been coming across more and more on a daily basis to the point when she had to flee to London in summer 2006. She had just turned 20 and had to learn the new rules and start her life all over again completely on her own in England. She worked in a legendary music technology shop “Turnkey” for 8 months as a sales expert being the only girl on the shop floor selling music equipment. However, not everything at all was easy as while her asylum case had been processed and she had to fight for her rights for two years.

Her case had been approved later and she had been granted her stay in UK. She continued pursuing music while raising her daughter born in 2008 and for three years she had been mostly working behind the scenes juggling motherhood and work. After producing and engineering a few hundred songs for other artists, releasing her “Emancipation EP” in 2009 and a few other songs independently, filming three music videos and acting in three short movies, a feature film "Reversed" set for release in autumn 2012 and numerous commercials, she is focusing on her solo career and upcoming projects. She has an astonishing track record of hundreds of songs including recording entire album by Oxxxymiron “Vechniy Jid” which had been rated Best Rap Album of 2011 in Russia and nominated for Russian Urban Music Awards.

Together with Oxxxymiron she helped bringing grime to Russia and she produced the first grime/dubstep song in Russian language. She had also been extensively performing around the UK, including jungle raves and London Peace Concert on Tranfalgar Square in 2007, World Sickle Cell Day 2012 in Wolverhampton in West Park. She has worked with many artists and producers like rap group "Tribe", Markul, No Limit, Congo Natty, Sherii ven Dyer who was the lead singer in "Made in London" girl group ("Heart Skip a Beat" http://youknowigotsoul.com/?p=10874 and other songs), Insomnia Beats Productions, Rephlex, and many others. She is currently working on her upcoming album and collaborating with other artists on their projects. Read more on Last.fm.
