Jacob Lloyd is one of the newest artists on the Christian scene, with a rapidly increasing fan base all across the UK and further afield. In the 18 months since releasing his debut independent 10 track album, ‘Home’, Jacob has drawn the attention of media and event promoters alike, and he is now a regular performer on the Sunday Night Live circuit across the whole of the UK. Not only combining his songwriting gifts with his school experience, 15 year old Jacob recorded a charity single in association with Sandwell Youth Music, in which he was backed at a live ‘Holocaust Memorial Event’ by 400 primary school children from across the region. Jacob ended 2010 performing an especially written song live on local radio, as part of the Christmas Eve celebration show, called ‘Why We Sing’, folding back the commercialism of Christmas, and considering the real reason ‘why we sing hallelujah’. 2011 sparked a working relationship with Andy Baker, director at Resound Media (Philippa Hanna, Roo Walker, Peter Nevland), and Jacob began a 3 year partnership with Andy. This led to an introduction to BBC Derby and Sunday Night Live creator Johnny Kinch, and a subsequent successful audition saw inclusion on volume 1 of Sunday Night Live Sessions CD. Already 2012 is set to bring bigger things. Jacob is now beginning to promote and gig with the new EP, Somewhere New, and has a number of live events lined up ranging from Leeds to Portsmouth.

March sees the release of the first single from Somewhere New, ‘Lost and Found’, and a tour in the second half of the year is being organised. He is set to support Philippa Hanna and Roo Walker on a number of dates on their Coffee Shop Tour 2012. Jacob Lloyd can be contacted at jacob@jacoblloydmusic.com Read more on Last.fm.
