Irolt was a Frisian folk group founded in 1975. Nanne Kalma (guitars, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, and vocals) was the driving force of the band from its beginning, joined originally by Geppy Haarsma (accordion). Hans Kerkhoven (guitars), and George Snijder (drums). In 1980, Sytze Wagemakers (accordion) and Jan Ottevanger (bass, guitar, and tuba) of the party. Inez Timmer was the lead singer until 1983, when Ankie van der Meer took over. Their first album, De Gudrun sêge, was released in 1975, and made an immediate national impact. Read more on Last.fm
