During the past few years, trance music has been constantly evolving, turning inside out the old classical definition of itself. That rapid evolution has brought to the global dance scene a completely new generation of DJs and producers, challenging the legends and storming the crowds around the world. That new elite includes such now recognized names as Sean Tyas, Richard Durand, Sander van Doorn and Markus Schossow. There is still one name which has been lately widely mentioned as next big thing to emerge – Russian DJ and producer Ilya Soloviev.

If you are born in distant city of Ekaterinburg, it is easy to realize how hard it is to break through into the DJ cream. This fact never stopped Ilya for a second though. At the age of only 22, this extremely talented DJ has quickly established himself as one of the most in demand trance artists in Russia, playing regularly at all major clubs in this world’s biggest country. So far Ilya has shared the decks with such legends as almighty Above&Beyond, Simon Patterson, Ronski Speed, Markus Schossow, Kyau&Albert just to mention a few, headlining events in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, including famous Colours of Sound festival in Poland.

Not only the successful DJ, Ilya Soloviev is with no doubt one of the biggest Russian trance exports as a producer. His productions have been heavily supported by likes of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan, Aly&Fila, Ernesto vs. Bastian, Ronski Speed and Mike Koglin, which makes quite wide and impressive range, one might claim. His oustanding production skills already became recognized by such titans as Armada, where Ilya will release his latest single which was included into the most requested CD compilation ever - A State Of Trance 2008.

Ilya Soloviev’s label Timeline Music has in less than a year became a synonym for quality forward thinking trance, and that’s also a merit many wants to achieve. To finalize the picture, add the two popular global radio shows Ilya hosts on Afterhours.FM and Trance.FM, so you will get some impression of this young electronic dance music wizard. Nethertheless, all mentioned above would be just a common hype without revealing the very secret of evergrowing popularity of Ilya Soloviev among the clubbers around the globe. All these merits are just a consequences of the musical magic this guy deliver to the audiences. Take smooth and long basslines of progressive, add some electrifying trance melodies, full of euphoria and passion, combine that with the chunky madness of tech.

When shake it all in one superb yet careful selection melting pot alongside with flowless mixing technique and energetic stage charisma, crown it with a solid pinch of constant flirt with the dancefloor… The result is called the DJ set by Ilya Soloviev! That and that only has made him a name, and there is no need to be Nostradamus to predict that this same white magic of musical pleasure Ilya gives away to the masses will see him on top of the international DJ elite very very soon. Mark these words, and come to listen this DJ doing his thing live. We became addicted already. We are quite sure you will as well! Read more on Last.fm.
