Humble Home

Humble Home’s debut release “Prologue to Doubt” is an unapologetic attempt to deconstruct personal realizations of faith and death. Humble Home’s debut release “Prologue to Doubt” is an unapologetic attempt to deconstruct personal realizations of faith and death. It’s an ambitious vision, but refreshingly so in its honest and intimate narrative as “Doubt” reads like an open journal. Lyricists Nick Wise and Matt Hectorne are confessional, idealistic and conversely subtly disenchanted, stoking the fires of longing and questioning; their admissions cycle from the unknown to the familiar and back again. Their chosen medium is a layered, rock-derived folk sound, with haunting vocals that move against a diverse backdrop of organ, guitar, piano, accordion and other acoustic instrumentation.

Genuinely displaying emotional range and musical versatility, rounded out by Jeff Sutton and Anthony Foti, the group trades off on instruments and experiments with free form songwriting. Lead singer Wise says Humble Home’s intention was to create an intimate live experience. Recorded in Aurora, Ohio, the Humble Home debut was tracked by Rob Parr, a local musician with hip credentials. Parr played with As Tall as Lions and currently with The Dear Hunter.

He recorded “Prologue to Doubt” in his basement studio in the summer 2010. :: Bio by Danger House/Rachel Hoskins Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
