Then there was a break. A number of years later he found himself feeling the need to start making music again, not for any kind of commercial or critical acclaim, but as a form of therapy. Ben has many influences from the pop music of SAW he listened to during his early school days right through to bands like Dubstar, Garbage, Kenickie, BIS and Alkaline Trio, and artists like Dot Allison, Kirsty MacColl and Imogen Heap. Ben's music explores the things that happen everyday, the way he reacts to situations and how those reactions may be caused by past life experiences. Being bullied all the way through high school and living with an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which causes over thinking are themes that come through in his music. He tries to make his music honest, heartfelt and sincere. Ben chose the name Hollow Me because it can be read two ways.
The first "I am hollow" and the second "Make me hollow". The first is what life can do to you, the second is what you want to happen to stop feeling. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
