Hollow Illusion - Norwegian Metal hailing from Stange. Equipped with a 2 album discography, Norwegian metal band Hollow Illusion (formally Hollow) formed in 2003 in Stange, Norway. The line up consists of Mangus Mikkelsen Hoel (vocals) and Ove Mikkelsen Hoel (bass and backing vocals), with a step-in member on drums. Crafting a sound that takes influence from bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy, the three piece released their first album in 2010. Entitled ‘Dark Thoughts’, the eight track offering was mixed in Denmark by Tommy Hansen and features fan favourites ‘Psychic Strain’ and ‘Empty Space’.

In 2011 Hollow Illusion released their second album ‘Between The Lines’. The eleven-track release saw the three-piece narrate the record with personal experiences. In songs such as ‘Twisted Life’ and ‘Burning Hearts Of Metal’, twins Ove and Magnus performed duets that explored how they found their passion for Heavy Metal music. Praised with enthusiastic live performances, the band have played throughout Norway supporting the likes of TNT, Pagans Mind, Accept and Cirus Maximus.

They’ve also had the opportunity of traveling across the pond and performing internationally in Sweden and Owestry. In 2012 they played a show at The Underworld in London and in 2014 they performed at Grand Central in Manchester. Currently the band are working on their third album with producer and engineer Trond Hotler (Dream Police, Wig Wam, and Jorn). The record is expected to be released in 2015.
