Het Gebaar

Just playing nice dutch popmusic. With that goal in mind five youngst people from the Netherlands start the band Het Gebaar in 1995. As a coverband they make fame locally and so they aim higher with their own material, and not without success. In 1996 the band is contracted by Universal Music, leading to two singles in 1997 and 1998. Publisher Hans Kusters likes it and he contracts Het Gebaar in 2001 for two albums and several singles, leading in 2002 to national fame with the single 'Als ik jou was' ('If I was you'). This song tops several charts and the clip is shown on television and is featured in the soundtrack of 'Volle maan'. Numerous gigs around the nation follow. Late 2003, a few months before the bassplayer and drummer leave, the debut album 'Einde van een nieuw begin' is published. In 2004, with a new bassplayer and drummer, a second album is made, with recognizable but stronger compositions and a new rythmsection.

The title of the album, published oktober 2005, is aptly named 'Meer' ('More'). The first single from this album, 'Voor Haar' ('For Her') is featured on the radio and is in the stores since january 2006. Read more on Last.fm.
