Richel Bilderbeek and Geert van den Bogaart formed a band together, in the year 2000 in the Biological Center in Groningen, The Netherlands. First this band was called 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek & Bogaart Trio'. This because Richel Bilderbeek played two flutes. Some months later, Geert van den Bogaart discover that also he played two intruments: he plays the piano and does the vocals. Therefore, the bandname was changed to 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek & Bogaart Bogaart Kwartet'. Read more on Last.fm

After a performance at BioPop in the Platformtheater in Groningen, The Netherlands, the band members discoved that they got much better. Again the name was changed to 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek & Bogaart Bogaart Quartet'.
