Happypill became a band when Ryan Roxie met Anton Körberg met through a mutual friend in late 2006. Their similar influences (The Beatles, Foo Fighters, Golf) led them to joining forces and complete the group by searching for an additional guitarist and a charismatic bassist. One day while shopping at IKEA (this IS after all the ULTIMATE Swedish story), part-time employee Johan Berqvist came up and introduced himself to Ryan because he recognized him. Not from Alice Cooper with whom Ryan played with for 10 years, but from the Slash’s Snake Pit record Ryan had written on and recorded a few years earlier. Johan was a guitarist/keyboardist who also knew bassist Magnus Wikström.

All four met up at their favorite Russian Vodka watering hole, KGB (located in Stockholm) to discuss music, future goals and aspirations......and yes, Russian vodka. It was decided then and there that Happypill could be the band to make these musical goals and aspirations possible. Happypill's first rehearsal took place in the beginning of 2007.They booked their first gig just a couple of weeks later at the O-bar, which is located in an area of Stockholm called Östermalm. In just little over a year, they performed again in Östermalm at Stockholm's Olympic Stadium, as a support band for the 35,000 seat sold-out KISS concert. Read more on Last.fm.
