Happy Party (aka HPY PRTY) was a synth punk band from Detroit that existed from early 2003 to early 2004. They were known for sloppy, largely improvised performances that included fireworks, fights between band members and lots of PBR. Performances were often guerrilla and gigs rarely booked far in advance. HPY PRTY released a CD on I Hate to Rock Records documenting several live performances, a self-released VHS cassette documenting a performance played in a hot tub and a self-released demo cassette recorded by Sam Consiglio of Tamion 12 Inch and ADULT. HPY PRTY broke up due to conflicting opinions between band members and the criminal justice system. Read more on Last.fm.
