The following years he kept up the pace and with production partner Victor Lydby by his side - Mavix Productions was a big part of more than 3 critically acclaimed albums and a handfull of mixtapes. While still in high school Max started flirting with the idea of electronic music, doing collaborations with classmate and current Fabric resident Peter Pixzel, and it didn't take long before he found himself completely in love with House & Techno. Still doing productions on demand for hip hop artists and recording aspiring singers at the time, the electronic music became a hidden passion and it wasn't until 2003 before it surfaced when discovering that long time friend Jesper Prehn (Chesperito) shared his passion.. The two Danes formed the minimal techno group Ripchord, forging their own sound, and as one of the only groups at the time in Denmark, their uncompromising raw & churning beats quickly became popular on the danish underground electronic music scene. The two young Danes, went on to play all the Danish underground clubs - and after a gig in Berlin Max heard the calling loud and clear, it was time to convert 100 % procent to electronic music.. Ripchord's debut Single EP "Thrill Cosby" was released on the indie label JATO-UNIT. Few years later Max crossed paths with fellow Copenhagen DJ & Producer Mads Jensen (Massimo/Jazz Menson) and that turned out to be a hook up of a lifetime. Massimo was Mr.
Deep on the copenhagen scene and started introducing Max to the deeper, sexier sound of electronic music - it quickly caught Max attention and a new partnership was born - Moxy Street. A perfect mix of Max churning background from minimal and Mads knowledge of deep - Moxy Street is soulful and intelligent aswell and being raw and highly danceable. They spent months in the studio crafting tracks and as their friendship grew they became mentors for each other as well as a profilic back2back phenomenon playing every week nearly 2 years in a row at the hugely popular wednesday night they hosted themselves in downtown copenhagen called dUb.. In 2008, after returning from a tour in Asia with fresh inspiration, Max invented the solo moniker Hankat (meaning tomcat in Danish). The new deep house sound with a twist of techno, famous acapellas, surprising bootlegs and stunning live-performances became the trademark of Hankat, and within a year & a half - that was exactly the name on everybody's lips in denmark. The first single "Be the First" came out spring 2010 on the newly formed Sound Of Copenhagen Records.
Making HANKAT the first artist on the label. The track was labelled "Best track of 2009", and the video made more than 10.000 hits on youtube the first month (very BIG thing in small denmark) as well as keeping the spot on the danish video chart for 14 weeks in a row. That lead to a nomination as "Best New Act" and a live performance at the 2010 danish club awards for more than 7000 people & and a nomination at the upcoming 2011 Danish DJ Awards for "Best Upfront Single Release". Hankat 2nd single "Moscow Swingtime" was recently released on Massimo's label StudieStrasse Records, getting all 5's from names like Noir, Santos, AFFKT, Brothers Vibe, Kruse & Nurnberg, Osunlade, Luca Doobie, Micha Klang, Two Armadillos, Justin Martin and many more.. Always keeping busy, Max's new deep influences rubbed off on Ripchord partner Jesper - and they too swapped minimal rythms and dark themes for more fluid and organic tech-house. Slowing down the BPM just a little gave the guys new air and little by little Ripchord was no more - Hankat & Chesperito became Ham 'n' Cheese and the debut 4-track EP in 2010 on spanish Neovinyl got massive support from names like Jimpster, Alex Niggemann, Till Von Sein, Brothers´Vibe, Mihai Popoviciu, Uner, SIS, Uner, Coyu, Danny Tenaglia and Laurent Garnier, plus many more.
