Guents dy Rincon is a world music project that explores the different rhythms of Cape Verde (Funana, Batuque Coladeira, Finaçon, Morna, Mazurka, Samba, etc ...), and the influences of Afro-Latin rhythms. The band emerged in early 2007 by Santos Cabral, singer and songwriter, originally from Santiago Island Cape Verde, which at first had the support of some friends to carry out your project. Among these friends were beginning percussionist Eduardo Argentine couple, Mark and Maurice French accordionist Papain Lobao Brazilian percussionist and later guitarist David Star of the island of Cape Verde.

The reason for choosing this name, dy Guents Rincon in Cape Verdean Creole is the fact that Santos Cabral who is originally from the county of Santa Catarina whose center is the city of Rincon Assomada which is a neighborhood with plenty of cultural influence was decisive in the identity the people of the island of Santiago, to which the musical project Guents dy Rincon want to be faithful. Currently Guents dy Rincon is formed by a quintet of experienced musicians with international curriculum: Santos Cabral "Cape Verde" (Voice and Percussion), Domingos Vaz "Tata" Caboverde (guitar, vocals), Joe Bras "Cape Verde" (Guitar and Ukulele ), Ze Mario "Cape Verde" (Percussion, Voice and Musical Direction), and David Star "Caboverde" (Guitar and Ukulele). All compositions are original and musical structures of the Band. Guents dy Rincon has performed in many prestigious halls such as the Goethe-Institut Portugal, Franco-Portuguese Institute; Wave Jazz; Chapito; arms of silver, Avante 2009, among others ...

dy Guents Rincon is currently also a civic movement that strives for convergence of fine art at intercultural and international scholars participating in various aspects among these: thinkers, association leaders, historians, anthropologists and artists from various fields. This movement arises from the need to develop a new form of human relations within the CPLP in XXI century with new ideas to the new mindset required in the renovation of existing molds guidance and development of human relations.
