Great Plains releases appeared on the Homestead and Shadowline (NL) labels, and their songs have been covered live and on record by pals such as Yo La Tengo, Nothing Painted Blue, and fellow Ohioans Swearing at Motorists.

2. Great Plains was a progressive country-rock band that formed in 1987. The band comprised Jack Sundrud (formerly of Poco), Russ Pahl, Denny Dadmun-Bixby, Michael Young, and Lex Browning. In their career, they recorded two studio albums and had four singles enter the Billboard country charts.

Their highest charting single, "Faster Gun", peaked at #41 in the US charts. 3.
