Grass Stains was a band from Newtown, Connecticut influenced by various math rock, emo, punk and indie rock bands, and consisted of Ciara Connolly, Devon Covert, Dawson Goodrich, and Judge Russell. They formed in 2013 and disbanded in 2017. They originally formed as a three piece; Jimmy Buck on drums, Devon Covert on bass, and Dawson Goodrich on guitar. During the recording of their first record, "New England Will Kill Me", Judge Russell joined as a second guitarist & songwriter.

"New England Will Kill Me", their self-recorded debut was released September 2, 2015. Shortly after, drummer Jimmy Buck left the band, and was replaced by Ciara Connolly in November 2015. In the spring of 2016, they released "Best Friends Forever", a two track EP produced by Two Humans' Lucas Borgstedt at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut. In the summer of 2017, they realized they were going to have to break up, their colleges of choice were spread out across the country, so they made plans to record their second LP and to go on their first (and final) tour.

The record, "Bounce House" came out while the band was in Georgia on August 21st, 2017, the day when a total solar eclipse passed over the continental US. "Bounce House" was recorded that summer by Peaer's Jeremy Kinney at Judge's parents' house. The band played their final show on August 23rd, 2017 in Oxford, Connecticut after a 12 hour drive from Wilmington, North Carolina. Now, Dawson goes to school for studio production at SUNY Purchase, Ciara goes to Michigan State University for jazz performance, Devon Covert studies industrial design at the University of Bridgeport, and Judge studies computer science at UMass Amherst.
