Masanori had a nocturnal ambient side-project Human Soul, and a rawer, less melodic black metal project Hurusoma, both of which are now disbanded along with Gnome. Masanori also appeared to have a project named "Woods" although it is not sure what came of this. Gnome (USA) is described by some as "bubble grunge," combining guitar grinds with fuzzy pop. The band released a series of albums in the early '90s; their first album, Six Hi Surprise Tower, contained material they had been working on while touring with Soundgarden and The Fluid.
