Alabama-native Michael Turvin met fellow southerner Bonnie Crocker in New York City in 2005. Glen Eden Quay self-released their debut album, Outbound Again, in June of 2008. Recorded in a bedroom in Brooklyn, a loft in the Bronx, and an attic in Yonkers, the album features an eclectic mix of songs, ranging from sparse, acoustic ballads to good ol' country, back-porch rompers. Though essentially a duo, the band has played with a number of musicians and continues to experiment with instrumentation, reinventing and redefining itself with each performance. However, at its core, it remains the same, with soulful vocals, lush harmonies and classically memorable melodies.
