Ghost of Lester Bangs are a Long Island, NY indie rock/punk band formed in 2003 by Tom Craig, Derek Stebel and Pat Smith. The band quickly released the ...or Bust EP and self-released their debut full length Dead Stop in the Fast Lane in 2004. Around this time, the band became very involved with the Bands Against Bush movement with bands like Sonic Youth, Le Tigre, Sleater-Kinney and SHLSHKD. In 2005, the band released their sophomore full length What the Morning'll Let Me Remember on Making Records. For shows, the band added keyboard player Ian Holohan, which then turned into a full time position making the band a quartet. According to the band's official website, they are currently working on their third album with Paul Feitzinger and is scheduled for release in late 2006/early 2007 on Making Records in North America and another distribution outlet elsewhere.
