Ghola

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the Ghola project started in June of 2010 with the unreleased, incomplete "The Golden Path" EP. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the Ghola project started in June of 2010 with the unreleased, incomplete "The Golden Path" EP. This would be pushed back and to the side for work on the debut EP of two man Black Metal outfit Devoured made up of Ghola and Kheper (Matt Themelco of Melbourne Melodic Death Metal band Orpheus), titled "God Is In His Heaven, All Is Right With The World". The Devoured project dissolved after a number of month's and the recordings for the EP, as well with tracks that were already being written and recorded for the full length released later in the year of 2011, were all reused for the debut Ghola album that shared the same name as the EP. The debut album, "God Is In His Heaven, All Is Right With The World", was released in the Winter of 2011.

Following the release of "God Is In His Heaven, All Is Right With The World", Ghola began work on the follow up album, "Apotheosis". This would be the first work to be written entirely for a specific Ghola album rather than a remixing of tracks. "Apotheosis" was released by Ghola in the Spring of 2011. Quickly following the sophomore effort was the "Into The Void" EP, a 2 track EP that came about from experimenting with Ghola's effects station just minutes after finishing recording "Apotheosis".

"Into The Void" saw a Summer 2011 release. The year of 2012 was opened with the release of "A Monument To Non-Existence", the third major release from Ghola. This release saw a major change in direction for Ghola, making use of electronic music, as well as a more noise orientated approach rather than a drone one. After this came "Gh_l_ _npl_gg_d", an acoustic Noise/Drone/Field Recording effort, released in the Autumn of 2012. With 2012 slowly rounding off Ghola turns his focus towards his fourth major release, "Crimson Moon".

Based on an incomplete novella from his teenage years, "Crimson Moon" will be a 5 disc, 6 hour long epic that will take all of Ghola's resources and time. Release is expected to be around the end of Winter. -INFLUENCES- Steven Wilson, Like Drone Razors Through Flesh Sphere, Unwom, Sunn O))), Bull Of Heaven, Boris, Drowning The Light, Dan Swano, Swans, Eluvium, Nurse With Wound, Dragged Into Sunlight, Tom Vourtsis, Portal, Bass Communion, Beck, Disembowelment, David Bowie, Richard A Ingram, Wold, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Lil B, Psychedelic Horseshit, Black Mayonnaise, Sonic Youth, Trist, Pig, Peste Noire, Locrian, Menace Ruine, Nine Inch Nails, Grey Daturas, Abruptum, ECHTRA, Burzum -MEMBERS- Ghola - Vocals, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Drum Programming, Synthesizers, Harmonica, Electronics, Production --SESSION MEMBERS-- Shaitan - Guitar Icarus - Guitar Omega - Synthesizers, Accordion Read more on Last.fm.
