Gene Smith (Ricky Ranchero) has been playing in Sacramento, CA since the eighties. His first playing adventures were in small pubs and coffee houses. He later joined with the band Kai Kln. Kai Kln was a Sacramento Band that won many awards and had a HUGE following of Faithful Fans. They opened for bands such as Primus, Nirvana, Blue Oyster Cult, Dinosaur Jr., Sublime-etc. When Kai Kln dis-banded, he played with FTRA(Freight Train Riders of America) with members of Okra Pickles, Las Pasadillas, and Ken Killian. When he played solo, he played at the Blue Lamp,Old Ironsides, and The Fillmore and has opened for such acts as Steve Miller(on the main stage),Tom Petty, Pete Townshend,in the V.I.P Lounge He is now currently playing in The Ricky and Del Connection with members of Kai Kln, Victims Family, and Advant Garden, and whoever else wants to play in it. AND!!!! Is also doing a solo prodject with me ,myself ,and I,and has a solo Album out.
