Gazebo Martyr

Despite numerous faked biographical accounts, Gazebo Martyr was actually born in the Spring of 2005 in a college dorm room. "Lunar Extravaganza" was their first smash hit, released in late April, 2005. After a nearly ten-month hiatus, their next single, "Cold Dinner" was released, on the last day of January, 2006. In the meantime, various tracks were recorded, and an EP was actually conceptualized, entitled "Crime Scene Photographs From the Motel Room. Read more on Last.fm
In the meantime, various tracks were recorded, and an EP was actually conceptualized, entitled "Crime Scene Photographs From the Motel Room." Album artwork was released on the band's Myspace and various tracks were leaked through certain channels, songs such as "128," "Daytrip: Midwest," "The Oxymoronic Act," and "Frear Hall," among others, were all recorded and purported to be on the EP. Yet, the EP never materialized and it is assumed that the band has either abandoned the material or that it has been lost to the sands of time. In many ways Gazebo Martyr went dormant for the next few years. They still played occasionally, mainly the tracks from the unreleased "Crime Scene Photos" EP, as well as a few other tracks.

In mid-2006 the band uploaded an acoustic song entitled "Coffee and Food," which up until that point had been unheard, to their Myspace. Various bootlegs of live shows were also available on certain websites, although their quality and content varied greatly. Returning in May of 2008, the band began to utilize their Last.fm page. A collection of demos, entitled the "Summer 2008 Demos" was recorded. Of these demos, only "Naked Shower" was released, via their Last.fm profile, where it still remains playable.

Also, at this time, the band released a new line of merchandise, including a very coveted, limited-edition, hand-printed silkscreen t-shirt. 2008 was a whirlwind year for members of the band, but by 2009 things had settled down and they were finally ready to put something out. In the middle of 2009, the band released two new singles, "Sleepy Tired" and "Tornado," which were both available on Amazon MP3s for purchase, and via Last.fm for streaming. These two tracks were later mentioned to be part of a new EP. Via the band's Twitter, they claimed to have a new 6+ track EP "in the can", completely recorded, mixed, and mastered. All that was needed was some album artwork and some final touches before it would be made available to the public. Unfortunately, much like their slated third EP "Crime Scene Photographs From the Motel Room" that was due for release in 2006 but never materialized, this unnamed new album has also not yet seen the light of day.

The last post on the subject, via the band's Twitter, from January 2010, still says artwork is all that remains before it is released. As of July, 2010, the band has not seen a lot of recent activity, but that has been the rule rather than the exception for much of the band's existence. Read more on Last.fm.
