Fruition String Band. Drawing sustenance from the deep roots of traditional American music, these four youths of Portland, OR, have grown from a sapling quartet of street musicians to towering oak of musical energy. Priding themselves on an eclectic musical palette that transcends their American roots instrumentation (upright bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo), they inspire audiences to live, love, dance, and sing at every show. Hearts will be broken, mended, then uplifted by the soulful, heartfelt lyrics of these modern day troubadours. In their hometown of Portland, Fruition effortlessly brings 75 to 100 fans for each of their weekly shows, drawing on a fan base that comprises not only lovers of bluegrass, but reggae, country, rock, funk and soul enthusiasts. Regularly sharing multi-genre bills, Fruition fears no crowd, confident in their ability to move hearts, minds, and feet with their unfettered celebration of the experience of life.

From down-and-out blues numbers and longing love songs, to groovy reggae and the ubiquitous ass-shaking bluegrass, these talented multi-instrumentalists exert an uncompromising melodic, rhythmic force that leaves the listener both astounded and fully satisfied. July 2008 saw the release of Fruition's debut album, Hawthorne Hoedown, an organic set of eight original songs recorded, mixed, and packaged at their Treehouse Headquarters in Portland. Having spent the summer and fall honing their skills playing electrifying live shows throughout Oregon and northern California (including their recent two night sold out run with Hot Buttered Rum), the Fruity Folks seek to expand their tour circuit to include the greater western and mid-western United States for the months of April and May, and beyond.
