Fontane pushed the limits of the typical punk, emo, or hardcore sound and incorporated challenging yet catchy rhythms and melodies. They had a real emotional intensity, and they sang/screamed heartfelt lyrics over the foundation of punchy guitars. Not long after the band broke up the members joined other bands.
