Fleeing from Gandhi is a death metal band from the suburbs of Nottingham. They have a unique style and are not limited to one genre. They have many influences from other genres and incorporate classical, neofolk and other music styles into their songs, which all have a deep message. They are a new band who formed in 2009. The idea of a band came up when a group of friends decided they wanted to make some music for fun, to spread a message and "for the lulz".

It is also somewhat a resurrection of a band known as The Blazing Inferno (2007-2008). In interviews, the band have stated that in the future they would like to make a tribute album to The Blazing Inferno, but have other more pressing matters to attend to first. The band is currently working on song writing and lyrics and want to begin recording as soon as possible for their "Under The Bhodi Tree Demo". There have been some leaks of song titles and even a composition on the "Guitar pro" format, but the band have said to ignore these as nothing is yet confirmed for their first demo line-up. After playing "Battle of the Bands" on 27th April 2010 the band decided that Fleeing From Gandhi must be taken further. When residing from the performance in victory, the band exclaimed that performing was the best feeling they had ever experience...

Somewhat better than an orgasm. This has spurred the band on the write and record far more songs in the summer of 2010. A recording of "Salt March to Gandhi's Grave" was leaked and was removed due to complications and is no longer available. Look out in the summer for more information and genre-defining music.
