Filthkick were formed in 1989 and were based in Birmingham / Coventry UK Although several drummers were trialed the first official lineup was: Jim (Ex Napalm Death / Ripcord) - Bass Leggo (Ex Deviated Instinct) - Vocals M4RK - Guitar Ben Mochrie - Drums Filthkick played their first gig in May 1989 at The Birmingham Barrel Organ supporting Extreme Noise Terror. The two bands hit it off and Filthkick continued to play support slots for Extreme Noise Terror John Peel invited Filthkick to record a Peel session after seeing them play at The Ipswich Carribean Centre (again supporting Extreme Noise Terror) At around the same time Extreme Noise Terror invited Filthkick to record a split album - The two bands released the joint album In It For Life on Sink Below Records (The album has since been licenced to various labels worldwide) Shortly after the album release Ben left the band (and later joined Cathedral) - The new drummer was Stick (Who was also playing in Doom and Extreme Noise Terror at the time) The relationship of the band members was always a little volatile and Filthkick split up following some major disagreements at their final show at Liverpool Planet X in December 1989 Following the split Jim moved away from Birmingham and later played in Cracked Cop Skulls. M4RK joined Extreme Noise Terror (on bass). Stick continued to play in Doom and Extreme Noise Terror.

Leggo formed a completely new Filthkick lineup Jim, M4RK & Stick recorded 2 tracks (Naive & Sonic Reducer), with M4RK on vocals, under the name Filthkick (legless) - These tracks appeared on the compilation album Punk's Not Dread Pete (bass) [also from Doom] left Extreme Noise Terror and joined Filtkick on bass. The new line up was now Leggo (vocals) Steve (guitar) Pete (bass) Daz (drums). Daz left shorlty after a few gigs and was replaced by Clive Police Bastard The new Filthkick recorded a second Peel Session, a split EP with Japanese band Rise From The Dead . The line up changed once more with Pete from [Doom] changing from bass to guitar, Neil [Scorn] playing bass, Leggo vocals and Clive drums. A number of gigs were performed and a demo for an album was recorded called 'Roadchrist', but this recording was dropped by the record company 'Desperate Attempt'.

However, 'Desperate Attempt' did use three songs for the release of the single 'Handcrushed Heart'. As of 2010 Jim plays guitar in WarPrayer Leggo sings for the reformed Deviated Instinct M4RK plays bass in The Wankys and Guitar & Vocals in DISTÄTE Stick plays drums in Doom and The Varukers Pete plays in Corvus Read more on Last.fm.
