In the mid-eighties Fetisch is drawn from Berlin to New York. He experiences at the age of seventeen the birth of Hip Hop at Roxy's, organizes parties, works the turntables at club legends like Tunnel and Danceteria. That's where he invents that special musical spirit, which he later calls Terranova, creating new nuances again and again with numerous guests. He travels around the world as a DJ, stands behind the turntables of the most innovative clubs in all five continents. In London he works at Gee Street, produces for the label and promotes it, initiates Warehouse parties and plays at the Wag club. For Gee Street’s Stereo MC’S Axis and Motherman is created, rapped by the Jungle Brothers. In the late eighties Fetisch returns to Berlin, works the turntables at WMF and the legendary Pogo and founds Terranova.

With Kaos and Meister he does his first releases on Compost and A-F and attracts already with his third EP, Tokyo Tower, international attention. In the years which follow Fetisch varies the Terranova sound on DJ Kicks, Close The Door and Hitchhiking Nonstop With No Particular Destination. He works with glamerous guests such as Cath Coffey, member of the already mentioned Stereo MC’s, as well as with Tricky, Rasco and Alexander Hacke of Einstuerzende Neubauten, Mike Ladd and Ari up of the Slits. He remixes Fischerspooner, the Jungle Brothers, 2Raumwohnung, Dominatrix, the Sofa Surfers, Skunk Anansie, and Herbert Groenemeyer. In his publishehing house, he has newcomers under contract such as Ghost Cauldron and Naughty, who is together with DJ Hell the Munich Machine. In 2003 Fetisch puts together the Cosmonauts of Innerspace with the intention of releasing with them a self-titled LP on Gigolo in fall of this year. Parallel to this he will release the Terranova LP, Peace Is Tough, on !K7. Terranova is perpetual motion, continuously recharging from within, and its energetic waves crash with the force of an earthquake.

He stands right at the epicenter, plays with Reggae, Hip Hop, Blues, Punk and Elektronika, covers Bob Marley and blasts Rocker-Guitar-Riffs as if there's no tomorrow. Terranova statements are absolute. And hit the zeitgeist. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
