Fernando Tarango began his professional singing career at the age of 10, attending boarding school and traveling the world with the American Boychoir in Princeton, NJ. He continued music in Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers High School) where he was a part of musicals, show choir, church choir and barbershop until he went to study Vocal Performance at the University of Michigan School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Studying opera, art songs, and choral music, he found particular enjoyment singing for the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club and the a cappella subset, The Friars. It was not until senior year of college, however, that he began writing songs and playing guitar. In 2006 Fernando moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland) where he began working for the Pacific Boychoir Academy and began singing professionally.

As a tenor he has sung for groups such as the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Pacific Collegium, Volti, American Bach Soloist, and Clerestory. In 2007 he also had the privilege of premiering the role of Mr. Bingley, in Kirk Mechem’s opera, Pride and Prejudice, for the San Francisco Choral Society in Davies Symphony Hall. Other highlights include performing and touring with the three-time Grammy-Award-Winning, Pacific Boychoir through Denmark, Hungary, Brazil, Italy and Argentina. In 2007 Mr.

Tarango completed his first solo album, Bachelor of Music, followed in 2009 by the second solo-album, Freudian Slip after which he moved into an RV for a couple of months and geared up for his first singer songwriter tour through, California, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado in June 2009. At the end of the tour he went to Michigan for a stint in organic human powered farming before heading back home to Fort Wayne, IN where I recorded the third album on October 31, 2009. In 2010 Fernando was hired by Holland America Cruiselines as a solo-entertainer, singing and playing guitars in various lounges of the msEurodam throughout the Eastern Carribean. Currently Fernando is independently studying music in Fort Wayne, IN singing in bars, cafés and for various recording projects. Listeners claim he sounds like everything from Bob Dylan, to Jason Mraz, to Michael Jackson and even Josh Grobin. Read more on Last.fm.
