His method is very discovery-based. He almost never goes into a song with any plan in mind, he just plays around with the samples until he has something that seems more or less like a song. The result is that he adheres to no particular style or goal, which is readily obvious when you listen to the tracks on his debut album and their, shall we say, highly eclectic set of styles.
