Even though he gained his education at the Graz Academy for Jazz, his musical horizon was far to widen to play only one type of music. He was overwhelmed with West African and Oriental music and consequently his knowledge of traditional ethnic instruments led toa meeting with Don Cherry, who he played and associated with for years.

He combined his old acquaintances and fresh forces in the Fake Orchestra, a music collective of different ages, sexes and musical orientations. Traditional Balkan and West African rhythms, echoes of classical and folk music effortlessly blend. Every music idiom they undertake comes out sounding fresh and with an edge.

Their live performances are filed with energy and emotions and the music repertoire allows for a lot of interplay through improvisation.
