FLASH BANG BAND http://www.myspace.com/flashbangwallop flashbangband < @t >yahoo.co.uk HISTORY Flash Bang Band began life as Andy Halliday & Len Winstanely's home studio electronic music project in Brighton, UK in 2009. After failing to satisfy the performance needs or functioning as any kind of vehicle for letting of steam, due largely to the fact that insects and walls were the only audience, the project left the room and grew legs in cyber space, wondering around Gumtree to find a gang. Andy lost Len along the way and god only knows where he got to maybe he got eaten by a wolf, or built a boat that would float in the sky. He did however find George (his old pal from back home), who joined him to illustrate melody on keys / trumpet, a giant called Dan who fared well on bass and at the far reaches of gumtree there was Rodney who was banging a loud drum.

Again, only god can tell us what the Gang would have done to find Rodney if he hadn't been banging such an evolutionary beat... would they have ever found him? THE FLASH BANG DEBUT EP - Random Acts Of Kindness So, resurfaced in Brighton, beyond the web, and back in full living colour, the band set about crafting songs out of what ideas had been put together electronically. The resulting set of songs were an absolutely original set of free standing beasts. As the band played relentlessly for their love of being a live band, they also continued to develop their sound into a new monster. (well, it kinda grew a couple of extra limbs of sound or something). The band spent 8 months creating a monster and then hired the ghostbusters to put it all on a disc.

These songs constitute this disc. The EP was recorded in Dorset in March 2009 at Andy Halliday's Mum & Dad's House (The Halliday's) using a whole mass of gear borrowed from a friend. It took place in a workshop and the band are certain that the setting was what holds most of the magic behind the EP. Self released on June 16 to a lo-key but extremely coll vibe-filled Latest Music Bar, Brighton. TRACKLISTING: 1 - The Rhythm Inside You 2 - Change The Rules 3 - I Want To Better Myself 4 - I Dont Wanna Play Guitar 5 - Questions 6 - Things That Go Bump INFLUENCES The band's influences are so wide they have a varying degree of importance. You will hear them for yourself. The band really love it when other people site influences in their sound! It opens up new meanings to the songs and perspectives in how they can be interpreted! You decide what you think they sound like and throw the sounds around everywhere like a lawn-mowerman of sound!
