Evil Intent

The first incarnation of Evil Intent was way back in 2000 when a couple of friends, N.Verdelet + L.Armstrong with a true love for metal began to jam and write music together. With N on guitar and L on drums they started writing original material and trying out other potential band members. After a year of not being able to find reliable band members, they decided to put things on hold for a while. 2007, while going through old cassette tapes, one of the guys found an old rehearsal tape that was recorded back in 2000. After listening to the tape, N and L decided that it was time to reform the band.

Things went ok for the first year back, they recruited the bass player from the other band that L was in at the time and started to write a couple of new songs, as well as rewrite the original songs from the rehearsal. All was going good until the end of 2008 when there were problems with the bass player and he was swiftly ejected from the band. 2009, after the demise of another local metal band, L.Armstrong decided to exchange the sticks for a pick to make room for L.Torvus who was recruited for the position of drums. N also decided that he was going to ‘swap instruments’ to make room for a talented up and coming metal guitarist by the name of Lord De Sies. This would be the first live line up that the band has.

After rehearsing relentlessly for a year the band graced the stage at the start of 2010. After the first gig, the band was set for another line-up change. Lord De Sies, with his own projects in mind, decided to leave the band. Luck being on their side, they managed to quickly pick up another local guitarist/bass player, J.Diaboli who was willing to fill the position of bass, leaving N to go back to guitars.

1 month later the band was back on stage again and digging graves wherever they played. Towards the end of 2010 the band went into a small home studio to record what was to become the ‘Fucking the Corpse of Christ’ rehearsal demo(n). 66 copies where released and all where gone within a couple of months! The end of 2010 spelt more line-up changes for the band. J.Diaboli, decided it was time for him to depart as he wanted to focus more on his main band, leaving the band once again ‘one member down’.

After going through a couple more bass players over the next couple of years, S.Cunt arrived at the beginning of 2012 ready to destroy all in his path. More relentless rehearsing and playing live followed the arrival of S until the Aussie autumn of 2012 arrived. The band once again entered the studio to record their debut MCD. A couple more gigs followed in 2012 with the band finally hitting the stage in Melbourne. Now in the beginning of 2013 with the debut MCD titled ‘LEMURIA’ being released through Darklust Distributions and Records, Evil Intent are ready for a big year of playing live all over the country.
