When he was 16, he made his first song in a simple sequencing program. Although this was a good first learning experience, it wasn't something that built in a straight line from there. Evil Coffee simply couldn't afford a powerful enough computer and sequencer at the time, so he decided to concentrate on DJ-ing instead. This has developed his musical taste further, although he wasn't very good at mixing.
In 2008, he decided that he longer wanted to be behind the turntables, and returned to his original musical plan: To produce songs himself. After many, many try-outs, he produced a song that he thought was good enough for others to hear. He presented the song, "The Projects (Rapid Eye mix)" to a befriended DJ, who played it in front of 500 people at a 2008-2009 newyear party. The crowd received the song very well, and a few people even stepped up to the DJ to ask what record was just played.
This has stimulated Evil Coffee to produce more music, which -according to his friends and fans- he still gets a little better at with every song he makes. His musical influences include, but are not limited to: Bonzaï Records, Studio Brussels' Teknoville, the I Love Techno series, the Border Community label, Pokerflat Recordings, Mark Acardipane, Umek, Manu Chao, Tanita Tikaram, PJ Harvey, The Audiobulleys, Moby, DJ Rush, Laurent Garnier, Trentemöller, The Knife, Vitalic, Der Dritte Raum, Andrea Doria, Samuel Paganini, Robert Natus, Joris Voorn, Technasia, Luke Slater, Daft Punk, John Dahlback, Shameboy, Amuka, Paul Oakenfold, Tocadisco, Ricky Fobis, Plastikman, Lunatic Asylum, Trancesetters, Psycosonick, Josh Wink, Drax, and many, many others...
