It was during this time that he was able to record his first studio project "Si Tu No Estas" (If You Were Not Here) released by One Voice Productions, under award winning Mexican, Jazz producer and drummer Alvaro Lopez. With Forte, Eric had the opportunity to travel through many parts of the world and be a witness to the awesome power of God. After three years with Forte, Eric joined the ministry of Pastor and singer/song writer, Clint Brown in Orlando, Florida. This transition became an excellent opportunity for growth and exposure to the North American Christian market. Along with the ministry of Clint Brown, Eric participated as a vocalist for many key industry events such as: CBA (Christian Booksellers Association) and the GMA (Gospel Music Awards).
During the next three years, Eric participated in various studio and live recordings, among them "In His Presence 3" & "Nothing But Church". During this time, while recording backup vocals for Latin recording artist Rene Gonzalez's, Eric met Record Label executive Nelson Rodriguez. In 2004, Eric and Nelson Rodriguez had a second encounter and he was invited to join the LifeHouse Music production team. He made the decision to move to the city of Miami Florida and began working with the record company in various areas of production. Through this experience, Eric recorded his first solo project titled "En Tus Alturas" (Where You.
The project was first released in Puerto Rico where the reaction was overwhelming and later released in the United States at Expolit 2005. The first single "Tu Eres" (You Are) became one of the most requested songs on the most listened to radio station in Puerto Rico, Nueva Vida 97.7 FM, as well as on many other radio station throughout the United states. The follow-up single "Aqui Estoy" (Here I Am), written by Eric through a personal experience, received the same overwhelming reaction. Eric was able to continue this Praise and Worship series with his sophomore Latin release "En Tus Alturas 2" (Where You Are 2). This album includes a re-recorded version of the song "I'm Overwhelmed" originally recorded by Eric on the 2004 Clint Brown release "Nothing But Church".
This second recording also occupied several spots on Christian Latin radio with the songs "Nadie Como Tu" (None Other Like You) and "Corro A Ti" (I Run To You). Producing this album allowed Eric the opportunity to further explore his creativity in a studio setting and continue to develop in many areas as a producer. Eric states that he deeply experienced the hand of God work wonders through these two very special productions. In August 2007 Eric won the Paoli Award as the "New Male Artist Of The Year". This is his first nomination and award as a solo recording artist.
"This award is not for me, but for the One who has given me this gift of music", said Eric Lopez as he was extremely humbled by this recognition. Today, Eric Lopez is continuing to accomplish new heights as a producer in the Latin Christian music scene and continues to write material for other artists. He has been graced by the opportunities of being a part of several key projects, such as Danilo Montero's 2007 Integrity Music release "Tu Amor" as well as Aline Barro's live CD/DVD recording "Refrescate" being released by Integrity Music in 2008. A new phase in ministry and independence as a recording artist has taken Eric to different levels of intimacy with God, allowing him to share the anointing on his life with every project he is involved in. "It is very important to make a difference in this industry and declare God the center of everything I do", says Eric Lopez as he continues to seek the face of God and works toward entering new levels.
