Formed in the mid 90's and hailing from the grey city of Peterborough, Emery were a young foursome hungry to break Peterborough's habit of chewing up and spitting out bands before they get a chance to shine, largely due to the city's lack of decent venues at the time. So they set their sights on playing outside the city and treading the boards of many toilets up and down the country to acquire a fan base outside of their home town. This plan proved fruitful for the band as they were gaining a great following; particularly around the southern part of the country. They also attracted the attention of a new drummer previously of "MantaRay" fame, a band of which had some decent success in the 90's.

The new blood in the band was just what was needed to bring them into contact with different contacts/venues and recording studios! After recording some really strong demos in the Essex countryside, it was then handed to everybody who was prepared (or even NOT prepared) to listen to it. One of those demos found its way into the lap of 2 very large and reputable record companies. A little war ensued between the two and at the end of it, unfortunately, a deal couldn't be agreed! Somewhat setback, Emery carried on regardless and went on to release their debut album "More Ways Than One" and went on to win Peterborough battle of the bands! Still in search of recognition and new fans they continued to gig supporting their fair share of bigger named artists, such as JJ72, Cooper temple Clause, Haven, The Mission, The Delays, and so on...! It was by this time that it was increasingly evident that the band needed a change of direction, some new hope, something different to work for and some new targets. Unfortunately this came in the way of parting company in search of new beginnings. 3 years then pass. Emery realise that they haven't finished talking just yet, but whether anybody is still listening remains to be seen...

One thing that was always apparent, and still remains so to this day, is that with a fresh new approach and a sound as shiny and tight as it always was, if you do manage to dodge them you're missing out, so you may as well get on board and ride with them..
