She had a deep connection to spirituality and music all throughout her adolescence, singing in church choirs and to anyone who would listen. Her love of music eventually gave way to songwriting in her teens. “Everybody saw it coming, I was a restless, old-soul who started searching.” That searching led her to the state of Louisiana. It was in Louisiana that she connected to her unique sound. The indigenous music and mysterious sounds of New Orleans related to the enchanting rhythms and melodies she heard within herself.
Elsie once again began to write songs that would define her style, authenticating her as an artist. Once again, her restless spirit new it was time for change, and that change led her to Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, Elsie was accepted into the songwriter’s program at Belmont University. She continued writing music, while learning the tricks and the trades of the business. She also explored and experimented with many different music styles and genres.
She eventually started recording her music and making connections with other songwriters. Along with being a solo artist, Elsie is also a member of the all girl band, The Shantys. Elsie’s hypnotizing vocals and whimsical melodies transport listeners to places of the past, present, and the future. Her quirky heart and spunky personality make people feel at ease.
Her old soul is revealed in her bittersweet lyrics that reveal the maturity in this young artist.
