Elephant Leaf

ELEPHANT LEAF is the latest project of the duo Lucie Dehli/Stephan Ink. Stephan and Lucie meet in Paris in 1990 where they start the story of their collaboration. They quickly find a shared way of expressing themselves through an amazing mix of sounds, samples and unic voices and take the name of VICIOUS CIRCLE. A strange universe that appeals to the Somebizzare’s (Soft Cell, The The, Einstürzende Neubauten, Swans, Depeche Mode...) label manager Stevo who offers them to sign their Album “Barbed Wire Slides”. Released in 1991, this album is still a main reference among the aficionados of experimental music “Words can hardly express the neverlasting shock that the discovery of "barbed wire slides represents...

many years that I lapse the listening of this album in loops, without being able to get me out of any kind of addiction...” The two French then start a new collaboration with the french label les “Disques du Soleil et de l’Acier” for a reedition of Barbed Wire Slides and sign, under the name of VIEW for two albums “Bike Ride” and “Life Goes on Again”. They find their success in Japan and are supported by Lydie Barbarian who, by a strange irony of fate, drags those french artists to the medias of their native country. The vocals of Lucie gives them the opportunity to travel around the world on the Hyperium compilation “Heavenly Voices”. They as well collaborate with the belgian Jean-Marie Mathoul on the 48 Cameras album “From Dawn to Dust and Backward”. Now comes from earth their new project, under the name of ELEPHANT LEAF.

A free fight, a sculpture made of the finest emotions, where Lucie’s voice takes all its place and gives the best of its sensivity. After years of searching a guitarist, they finally found their mate with Bertrand de Lamalle who joined them at first for lives in 2007 and makes his first appearances on Emotional Power. In december 2006, ELEPHANT LEAF released a split CD with the Canadian label Chat Blanc “Echanges 1 Elephant Leaf/Legriot”. Their album Emotional Power is produced by their own label Tutuguri. They are also working on a collaboration with the english duo of SonVer. ++++ "Emotional Power" official release:01/23/2008 ++++ Distribution through Cod&S(cds) and Hysterias(mp3) DISCOGRAPHY Albums VICIOUS CIRCLE Barbed Wire Slides (Some Bizzare) reissue in 2008(Intuition Records) VIEWBike Ride(DSA) reissue in 2008(Intuition Records) VIEWLife goes on again(DSA) reissue in 2008(Intuition Records) ELEPHANT LEAFEchange 1(Chat Blanc) ELEPHANT LEAFEmotional Power(Tutuguri) Compilations VICIOUS CIRCLESome Bizzare Ish (Some Bizzare) VIEWHeavenly Voices 1(Hyperium) VIEWHeavenly Voices 3(Hyperium) Read more on Last.fm.
