Element vs Ben VP

Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot was the front man. With his unique dancing and smooth singing style, he was the voice of Curiosity Killed The Cat, deemed as the first boy band who played their own instruments, gracing the covers of "Smash Hits" and every other teeny-bopper magazine in the 80s, as well as the magazines read by their parents! Ben VP, with Curiosity, had the hit singles, "Misfit", "Down To Earth", "Ordinary Day", "Name And Number" and in the early nineties the hit single "Hang On In There Baby". Read more on Last.fm
These fantastic songs acquired No1 success in no less than 16 countries worldwide. Their acclaimed 1987 debut album "Keep Your Distance" went straight to Number 1 in the UK album charts, stayed there for 2 weeks and spent a total of 13 weeks in the top 10. Curiosity Killed The Cat where always considered very hip due to their live shows, original music and interesting connections, such as Andy Warhol, Sly & Robbie and how De La Soul sampled "Name And Number" which became a hit for them too, as Ring Ring Ring - Ha Ha Hey".

Ben VP and the bands amazing combination of vocal talent, smooth grooves and pin-up good looks even earned them the surprising honour of being voted 10th in a recent "Top Ten Boy Bands" television poll! Since Curiosity disbanded, Ben has, by request, continued to perform both live and in the studio and has recently teamed up with dance supremos "Element" (AKA Bimbo Jones) who have already produced remixes for the likes of Deep Dish, Usher and The Bodyrockers. They are also the co production duo responsible for "Meck's" "Thunder In My Heart Again". September 4th 2006 saw the release of Name and Number (Megafan Records - www.megafan.org), which was originally a hit for Curiosity Killed The Cat. With Elements magic touch its sure to see the song chart high once again. Ben has just turned 40 years old and says: they say that life begins at forty, dont cha know? But we know not how many cat lives hes used up already! Keep up to date with Ben and his new solo album at www.benvp.com Read more on Last.fm.
